Covid 19 alert for smokers and vapers

The current coronavirus epidemic is leading to respiratory problems that can be severe or even fatal (Covid 19). More and more professionals and health organizations are warning about the links between smoking and Covid 19: increased risk for smokers of contracting the disease and developing a serious form, but also risk of spreading the disease. This spread results from frequent coughing and the presence in tobacco smoke of particles on which the viruses attach themselves and can then be inhaled by those around them. Finally, these potentially contagious particles settle on furniture, carpets, clothes, etc. and are the cause of ultra-passive smoking, by inhalation following their release into the air and by ingestion, particularly for small children who lick their fingers. Regarding vapers, it is too early to say whether they are more often affected and/or have more severe forms than non-smokers who do not vape. On the other hand, what is certain is that the particles present in the vapor exhaled by vapers infected with the coronavirus are potentially carriers of the virus and can be the cause of contamination by passive and ultra-passive vaping in the same way as for smoking. [1]-[2]Urgent appeals are being made to smokers and vapers to inform them and encourage them to stop their consumption for themselves and those around them and to get help to achieve this.
