The CRC establishes children&#039;s rights, emphasizing their rights to life (Article 6), health (Article 24), education (Articles 28 and 29), and <strong>to protection against the use of harmful drugs (Article 33)<\/strong>, as well as exploitative activities harmful to their well-being (Article 36). The serious and widespread impact of smoking on children&#039;s health, the abusive commercial practices of the tobacco industry and <strong>The use of child labor in tobacco cultivation makes CIDE a potentially powerful tool in tobacco control<\/strong>, as recognized by several public health and human rights advocates. The CRC also complements the World Health Organization&#039;s 2005 Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC), which is the United Nations treaty on tobacco control.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At the policy level, governments have a range of multisectoral approaches available to minimise tobacco use and exposure to tobacco in children&#039;s environments. <strong>These approaches include the elimination of all advertising and promotion, including the introduction of plain packaging, banning flavored tobacco, increasing tobacco taxes, raising the minimum age for tobacco purchase, and banning smoking in public and communal spaces. These measures have significant health benefits.<\/strong> These measures are articulated with other obligations that must be implemented within a specific time frame, for the full implementation of the CRC.
